Project Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Manage and perform engineering/design execution, planning, and interface and ensure that activities are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Prepare project execution and quality plans, project plan of works, initial project safety review, initial project environmental review, and project control system.
  • Coordinate with project managers, discipline engineers, designers, drafters, and field staff, and ensure consistency in the execution of project activities.
  • Organize and conduct project meetings, and technical, and progress reviews.
  • Initiate and complete projects close-out and archiving.
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; and conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; and reviewing bids from contractors.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; and sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; and resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures; and administering contractor contracts.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; and recommending actions.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains project database by writing computer programs; and entering and backing up data.
  • Ad-hoc duties assigned


Requirements

  • Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineer Board
  • At least 3 - 5 year(s) of relevant experiences in construction industry
  • Knowledge of Autocad would be an advantage
  • Good communicative skills, able to interact with people of all levels and teamwork
