Project Engineer / Construction Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Construction Manager to lead construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage daily construction site activities to ensure smooth and efficient project execution. Plan, schedule, and monitor manpower deployment, materials, and equipment to meet project timelines. Supervise and coordinate structural, architectural, and other construction works to maintain quality standards. Lead site supervisors, workers, and subcontractors to optimize productivity and ensure compliance with project requirements. Collaborate with consultants, architects, engineers, clients, and stakeholders to align project objectives and resolve issues. Monitor project progress to identify delays, site constraints, and operational challenges, implementing corrective actions promptly. Ensure all construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, building regulations, and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standardsConduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship and enforce quality compliance. Coordinate project inspections, testing, commissioning, handover, and defect rectification activities. Prepare and maintain accurate project progress reports and site documentation

Required competencies and certifications

Proficient in AutoCAD (CAD) to read, interpret, and prepare construction drawings. Strong knowledge of construction methods, project coordination, and site management practices. Familiarity with Singapore construction regulations, building requirements, and WSH standardsAbility to lead teams with effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving skillsCapability to work independently and manage multiple project activities efficiently

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the Singapore construction industry managing projects, site operations, and subcontractors Relevant safety certifications and training
