PROJECT ENGINEER (DATA ANALYTICS)

Responsible for leading and supporting engineering projects while leveraging data analytics to drive operational improvements, optimize processes, and support business decision-making. This role combines project management, engineering problem-solving, and data analysis capabilities to ensure successful project execution and continuous improvement initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and coordinate engineering projects from planning through implementation and closure.
- Develop project schedules, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Management.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational and business data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards using Power BI, Power Query, Excel, or other analytics tools.
- Generate regular reports and present findings to management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Perform data validation and ensure data accuracy across reporting systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis using structured methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, or 8D.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to identify process bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
- Support automation and digitalization projects to improve operational efficiency.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Facilitate project review meetings and communicate project status updates.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, and presentations for management review.
- Ensure projects comply with company policies, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits and compliance-related activities as required.
- Support implementation of quality management systems and continuous improvement programs.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial) or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience in data analytics, reporting, and dashboard development.
- Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
- Certified Data Analyst (Power BI or equivalent).
- Quality Management Certifications (ISO 9001, Internal Auditor).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Power Query.
- Data visualization and reporting tools.
- Project management methodologies.
- Statistical analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, 8D, and Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Knowledge of ERP/MES systems is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective stakeholder management and teamwork.
