Job Summary

Coordinate engineering projects from initiation through completion, managing schedules, resources, costs, and technical documentation to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, plan, and evaluate new projects by conducting feasibility studies, technical and commercial assessments, and developing implementation plans.
  • Prepare detailed project schedules, resource plans, forecasts, and technical documentation while managing subcontractors and vendors.
  • Coordinate project documentation and records for invoicing, including mobilization/demobilization logs, equipment, tools, materials, and Project Completion Reports.
  • Assist Project Manager in coordinating project activities to meet schedule and contractual obligations.
  • Review GA drawings, piping isometrics, P&IDs, and other technical documents to assess project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare and submit project work packs for client approval, including Method Statements, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and Ventilation Plans.
  • Collaborate with Project Cost Control to monitor expenditures, maintain budgets, and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Perform project cost estimation and prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tender documentation.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Vendors, QA/QC, HSE, Project Execution, Logistics, Training, and General Affairs to ensure accurate and timely tender submissions.
  • Complete technical and commercial bidding documentation, compile proposals, and manage tender clarifications to support project acquisition and revenue targets.
  • Support tender activities including plant, workshop, and site visits, and travel as required.
  • Coordinate with Material Controllers, Logistics, and Site Superintendents to manage project equipment, tools, materials, and consumables by:
  • Planning required quantities and controlling orders.
  • Ensuring readiness for project mobilization.
  • Coordinating mobilization and demobilization to/from project sites.
  • Maintaining updated records of equipment status, quantity, condition, and location.
  • Controlling return of equipment, tools, and materials upon project completion.
  • Ensuring proper usage and custody to prevent misuse, loss, or damage.
  • Managing proper storage and location of equipment, tools, materials, and consumables.

Required competencies and certifications

  • Ability to develop and evaluate project schedules, including creating S-Curve charts.
  • Proficient in operating PC-based applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and P6.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings such as P&ID, PEFS, and ISO.
  • Good health with ability to pass medical checkup and work at height.
  • Willingness to work at project sites.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • Experience in making mechanical drawings using AUTOCAD or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in process, oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, energy, or industrial plant environments, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work under demanding conditions during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, or projects.
