Project Engineer

The Project Engineer reports to the Team Leader, Project Coordination and provides technical advice and support to help maintain a safe and effective road network for all users. The role is responsible for identifying traffic and road safety issues, assessing options, and helping develop and implement suitable traffic engineering solutions. This includes addressing hazardous locations, responding to traffic concerns, and monitoring the effectiveness of implemented treatments. The Project Engineer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure traffic management solutions meet operational, safety, accessibility, and community needs. The role also supports the delivery of traffic engineering projects, overseeing the implementation of contracted works, and ensuring service providers meet technical, safety and performance requirements. The Project Engineer provides professional advice to support the ongoing safety and efficiency of the road network and contributes to the Department’s strategic goals and objectives for Network Management Services.
