Project Engineer

Job Summary

You will coordinate and manage MEP design and construction for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project requirements while supporting critical infrastructure installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

Design & Technical Coordination

  • Review and coordinate MEP design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Collaborate with internal design teams, consultants, and BIM teams to resolve technical issues and maintain design intent
  • Identify design conflicts and propose engineering solutions to enhance constructability

Project & Site Management

  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems on site to meet project schedules and quality standards
  • Monitor MEP construction progress and ensure adherence to approved drawings and timelines
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to facilitate smooth execution of MEP works

Data Centre Infrastructure

  • Support implementation of critical MEP systems including power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling, and fire protection systems
  • Ensure MEP installations meet data centre operational requirements and reliability standards
  • Assist in system integration and coordination of critical infrastructure for mission-critical facilities

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct site inspections to verify MEP installations against approved shop drawings and technical standards
  • Review method statements, material submissions, and inspection test plans to ensure quality and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure all MEP works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and local regulations

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project management

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and equipment
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills
