About the Role
Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking a Project Engineer/Estimator to join our growing company. The Project Engineer/Estimator contributes to project planning and delivery and undertakes technical engineering tasks and comprehensive cost calculations for civil construction projects, including the Ausgrid Poles and Line construction programme.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Wetherill Park, NSW
Reporting Line: Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with technical submissions, schedules, value engineering and constructability reviews
- Coordinate between site operations and project management
- Contract administration (including project communications, document management and records management)
- Monitor progress/performance against safety, time, cost and quality targets and report to project management
- Monitor delivery against scope / contract obligations
- Assist in submission of all documents required at completion such as as-builts, manuals etc
- Plan and create technical drawings, layouts and models for civil construction projects
- Ensure all plans meet regulatory compliance requirements
- Visit sites to check design feasibility as required
- Assist project management to resolve on-site challenges
- Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
- Benchmark project estimates against historical and industry data and internal / external indices
- Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons
About You
- 2-5 years of combined experience in project engineering and cost estimation
- Previous experience within the relevant and local utilities environment (advantageous).
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent (advantageous)
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local building codes and safety laws
- Intermediate Microsoft Word & Outlook + proficiency in estimating software (Excel, CAD or BIM platforms)
- Ability to deal diligently, patiently and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers
- Ability to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly
- Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
