Project Engineer - Interior Design
The Project Engineer role requires a proactive professional
who can manage costings, liaise with suppliers and contractors, and ensure the
successful delivery of projects within budget and to the highest standards of
quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in luxury interiors, a strong
understanding of project management, and an ability to oversee site operations
efficiently. The Project Engineer will report directly to Management
Key Responsibilities:
Site
Supervision
- Oversee and supervise on-site activities, ensuring that
all construction and design work meets the specified quality standards,
timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Monitor progress and liaise with site teams to resolve
any issues or discrepancies that arise during the construction process.
- Maintain a routine schedule of site visits throughout
the project lifecycle
Reviewing
Drawings and Specifications:
· Thoroughly
review architectural and design drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility in
terms of cost and materials.
· Ensure
that all designs align with the project's budget, schedule, and client
requirements.
· Provide
feedback on design elements that could impact the cost or timeline of the
project.
Scheduling
and Timeline Management:
· Develop
and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring that all phases of the project
are completed on time.
· Coordinate
with suppliers, contractors, and design teams to ensure timely delivery of
materials and services.
· Regularly
update stakeholders on project timelines, delays, or changes in the schedule.
· Ensure
production and design team are on schedule to meet deliverables and report to
management any changes
Supplier and Contractor Management:
· Liaise with suppliers and
contractors to ensure that all materials and services are delivered on time, to
specification, and within budget.
· Negotiate contracts, terms, and
pricing with suppliers and contractors, ensuring best value for the company and
clients
· Oversee contractor performance,
ensuring they meet contractual obligations and quality standards.
· Tendering process and review BOQs
· Utilise and develop company software
to enhance efficiency and data
· Ensure maintenance of materials
library
Contract
Administration:
· Prepare
and manage contracts for suppliers, subcontractors, and other third parties.
· Ensure
compliance with all contractual terms and conditions.
· Address
any disputes or issues that arise between the company, contractors, or clients.
· Ensure
client signs off on completion
Reporting
and Documentation:
· Provide
regular reports on cost performance, site progress, and potential risks.
· Maintain
detailed and accurate records of all project-related financial transactions,
agreements, and communications.
· Ensure
that all documentation complies with legal and company standards.
Requirements
· Must have a valid UAE driving license
and vehicle to use for work
· Highly organised
· Excellent communication skills to
effectively communicate with clients, design team, management and
contractors/suppliers
· Proficient in project management
software, Excel, AutoCAD and Plan Swift
