Project Engineer
Summary
Oversee and execute engineering projects from planning to handover, coordinating technical design, site work, and compliance for building management, HVAC, and automation systems.
Project Management
• Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned projects from project kick-off to final handover.
• Prepare project schedule, work plans, and resources requirement.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure project are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standard.
• Conduct regular project review meeting and provide progress updates to management.
• Ensure project claims are submitted promptly and variation orders are properly documented.
Engineering & Technical
• Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
• Prepare technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and material submission.
• Coordinate system design and engineering activities with customers and consultants.
• Support 3rd parties, instrumentations and field device integration where required.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.
• Respond promptly to technical inquiries and project-related issues.
• Support customer training and system handover.
Site Coordination
• Coordinate installation activities with subcontractors and site supervisors.
• Attend site meetings with consultants, main contractors, and clients.
• Resolve site technical issues promptly.
• Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure workmanship meets project requirement.
Testing & Commissioning
• Develop testing and commissioning plans.
• Supervise system commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot controls systems and instrumentation during commissioning.
• Ensure all system functions operate accordingly to design requirements.
Procurement & Cost Control
• Coordinate procurement of project materials and equipment.
• Monitor material delivery schedules.
• Track project costs and variations.
• Support project budget control and cost optimization.
Quality and Safety
• Follow Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
• Promote safe work practices on all project sites.
• Participate in quality inspection and audits.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in:
1. Electrical & Electronics Engineering
2. Mechanical Engineering
3. Computer Science and other Engineering
Experiences
• 2-5 years of experience in project engineer, preferably in:
1. Building Management System (BMS)
2. HVAC Controls
3. Instrumentation
4. Industrial Automation
5. ELV system
6. SCADA System
• Fresh graduates with relevant internship experiences may also be considered.
