Project Engineer (M&E)

Summary

Oversee M&E construction projects from planning to handover, coordinating teams, suppliers, and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with specs and safety standards.

• Plan and manage projects from mobilisation through installation, testing, commissioning, handover and defect rectification.

• Review contract requirements, specifications, approved drawings, BOQ and construction programmes.

• Prepare and maintain project schedules, manpower plans, material schedules, procurement trackers, progress reports and recovery plans.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant project stakeholders.

• Lead site supervisors, foremen and workers, allocate resources and monitor daily progress, productivity and workmanship.

• Review and coordinate shop drawings, technical submissions, material submissions, RFIs, inspection requests and as-built drawings.

• Monitor project costs, material usage, subcontractor performance, progress claims, variation works and potential commercial risks.

• Ensure materials and equipment are ordered accurately and delivered according to the project schedule.

• Conduct and attend progress, technical and coordination meetings, and follow up on all agreed actions.

• Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable Singapore standards, authority requirements and project quality procedures.

• Work closely with the safety team to ensure compliance with risk assessments, safe work procedures, permit-to-work requirements and site safety regulations.

• Manage testing and commissioning, inspections, outstanding works, defects and final project handover documentation.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of relevant M&E construction

• Good understanding of M&E drawings, specifications, BOQ, construction sequencing and site coordination.

• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices, applicable codes and authority requirements.

• Able to manage project schedules, budgets, manpower, materials, subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project reporting. Familiarity with AutoCAD or project scheduling software is an advantage.

• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and coordination skills.

• Able to work at different project sites according to operational requirements.
