Project Engineer (Mechanical / Energy)
Summary
Engineers and executes mechanical, HVAC, chilled-water and energy projects, performing calculations, reviewing designs, and coordinating installations to meet project and safety requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the planning, engineering and execution of mechanical, HVAC, chilled-water and energy-related projects.
- Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing and technical evaluations, including cooling loads, pump flow and head, pipe sizing, pressure drop and system capacity.
- Carry out energy-related calculations, such as energy consumption, system efficiency and potential energy savings.
- Review drawings, specifications, equipment data and technical submissions.
- Conduct site surveys and verify actual site conditions.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure works are completed according to project, quality and safety requirements.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant project experience.
- Good knowledge of HVAC and chilled-water systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, piping and valves.
- Able to perform engineering calculations independently.
- Able to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, energy audits, energy-saving calculations or ESCO projects will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of AutoCAD or relevant engineering software is advantageous.
- Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
