Project Engineer
Summary
Project Engineer supports delivery of emergency and planned infrastructure projects in water/wastewater, providing progress updates, risk analysis, and stakeholder management while ensuring health and safety compliance.
The role involves enabling activities for both large‑scale emergency works and planned project parcels across the region.
- Deliver enabling activities for major emergency projects across the region.
- Provide progress updates (time, cost, quality) to key stakeholders.
- Analyse data and risks to develop clear cost–benefit propositions.
- Work flexibly across the region as workload dictates.
- Lead root cause analysis and optioneering where required.
- Adhere to governance requirements, including spend authorisation and periodic reviews.
- Support reporting requirements for the Delivery Programme Manager and Lead Project Engineer.
- Comply with all site health and safety requirements.
- Maintain valid personal H&S and MTRA documentation.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)
- Proven technical experience in water / wastewater environment (desirable)
- Knowledge of H&S & CDM regulations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills – multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication and reporting skills – written and verbal
- Experience of working within a governance framework
- Ability to manage workload of self and others to tight deadlines
