Project Engineer/Project Manager

Forte & Tablada, a Louisiana-based engineering and surveying firm, seeks a Project Engineer/Project Manager with 4–15 years of bridge engineering experience to perform bridge load ratings, design, rehabilitation, and inspections across Louisiana, with project management duties (scoping, budgets, client communication, QC) as experience allows.

Forte and Tablada has an open position for a Project Engineer with 4 - 15 years of experience. Engineer Interns who have passed the PE exam and are on track to obtain their PE license within the next 6 months may be considered based on prior experience. The employee in this position will primarily work on Bridge projects across Louisiana, including Load Ratings, Design, Rehabilitation, and Inspections. Work will be performed with Professional Engineers and Engineer Interns in the Bridge Group, as well as the Roadway Group. The candidate must have a background in Bridge Engineering. Experience with Bridge Inspection and Load Rating is preferred. An ability to work on several projects with multiple team members is a must.
Daily duties will vary greatly based on experience and from project to project. The following types of projects and associated tasks can be anticipated:
- Load ratings of new and existing bridges;
- Bridge design and coordination with project team to develop plans for bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects;
- Inspection, documentation of deficiencies, and recommended repairs for existing bridges;
- Construction observation;
- Determination of construction cost estimates.
- Based on experience, Project Manager duties include:
- Project scoping and preparation of proposals and contracts;
- Managing scope, schedule, budget, and team performance;
- Communication with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and the general public;
- Performing quality control review of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
