About the role

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within scope. The role involves technical oversight, site supervision, problem-solving, and collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams such as Sales to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet deadlines and deliverables.

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.

  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow.

  • Supervise site activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.

  • Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and highlight risks or delays.

  • Provide technical support and resolve engineering issues during installation.

  • Manage project documentation, including method statements, progress reports, and as-built drawings.

  • Process and issue Variation Orders (VO) for changes, additions, or scope revisions on site.

  • Evaluate Sales Orders (SO) against architectural blueprints to confirm technical feasibility for aluminium systems.

  • Inspect and approve aluminium fabrication drawings, technical descriptions, and vendor quotations for accuracy.

  • Provide quick-turnaround technical support and resolve engineering roadblocks encountered during installation.

  • Relay customer feedback to installation teams to ensure workmanship aligns with required standards and quality expectations.

  • Work closely with the Sales Department to provide technical input for proposals, ensure smooth handover of awarded projects, and support client requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety requirements, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Building, or related Engineering field.

  • Prior experience in project coordination or site-based engineering roles preferred.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

  • Possess a valid driving licence and able to travel between office and multiple project sites when required.
