Project Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day execution of civil and structural works for main-contractor projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, budget, and project timelines.
- Work closely with Project Managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders to proactively identify, coordinate, and resolve technical, construction, and site issues.
- Review, check, and coordinate engineering drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements and authority regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, safety standards, and compliance with approved drawings and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site staff, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor and track construction progress, manpower deployment, and material usage, and assist in planning site activities to meet project schedules.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, technical submissions, records, and presentations for management and consultants.
- Attend project meetings, coordination meetings, and site meetings, providing technical input and reporting on project status.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the Singapore construction industry, preferably with main-contractor project experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering practices, and local authority regulations.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering and structural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and coordination skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Able to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with PEB Singapore is an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic project documentation tools; knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
