What you'll do\:
- Design and develop products, processes, systems, services or scientific applications using broad engineering concepts and research techniques
- Facilitate transition of product design and enhancement to full production/delivery
- Evaluate designs and products for compliance with regulatory and contractual standards in terms of material, stability and performance
- Collect and analyze functional requirements of proposed products
- Refine concepts, design products, plan project scope, determine and maintain schedules
- Serve as project leader for production of layouts, specifications, prototype build drawings and bill of materials within timeframes needed to meet production schedules
- Direct functional activities to drafters or drafting teams
- Provide technical services to internal divisions, plant managers and teams in sales, engineering and manufacturing departments.
- Maintain external relationships with vendors, customers, engineers and operating personnel at various companies regarding non-standard components and their developments
- Recommend design improvements and material selections that optimize performance, cost efficiency, and manufacturability contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to achieve desired results
