Project Manager
Position Summary
Under general direction from the COO and/or Program Manager, the Project Manager provides management oversight for all phases of a construction project, including project planning, scheduling, task management, coordinating material and equipment, and ensuring that drawings and specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
Principal Accountabilities - This position requires daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities that must be completed in a timely manner.
- Develops cost-effective plans and schedules for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
- Selects and coordinates work of subcontractors on various phases of the projects.
- Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews all architectural and engineering drawings to ensure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
- Supervises technicians, reviews their reports and approves timesheets.
- Adheres to the safety program and ensures safety violations are addressed.
- Tracks and controls construction schedule and all associated costs to achieve completion of projects within time frames and budget allowed. Tracks progress and all necessary modifications to the plans.
- Interprets regulations and communicates with others; must read detailed blueprints and establish and maintain effective working relationship with other city employees, commissions and boards, state and local government agencies, contractors, builders and the general public using in-depth knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
- Coaches and directs staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with company goals, objectives and budget.
- Reviews department procedures, staffing and equipment for maximum efficiency while controlling costs.
