Overview of the role:

The MEP project manager leads and manages all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components across development projects—from design through construction to final handover—ensuring delivery in line with project specifications, budget, schedule, and quality standards, while meeting the developer’s overall objectives.

What you will do:

  • MEP design integrity & compliance
    Ensure all MEP designs align with project requirements, authority regulations, and international standards.
    Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and resolve clashes.
    Drive value engineering initiatives without compromising performance or quality.
  • Project delivery (time)
    Own delivery of all MEP milestones in line with the approved project schedule.
    Identify potential delays early and implement recovery plans.
    Ensure timely approvals, procurement, and site execution.
  • Construction quality
    Ensure MEP installations comply with specifications, approved drawings, and QA/QC standards.
    Minimize defects, rework, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
    Enforce contractor adherence to method statements and best practices.
  • Contractor & consultant performance
    Monitor and assess contractor and consultant performance against defined KPIs.
    Ensure timely submittals, approvals, and execution.
    Resolve technical and contractual matters efficiently.
  • Testing, commissioning & handover
    Oversee testing and commissioning of all MEP systems to ensure full functionality.
    Ensure complete and accurate handover documentation (O&M manuals, as-built drawings).
    Deliver smooth project handover with minimal snags and outstanding defects.

Required skills to be successful:

  • 10+ years of experience in MEP project management within large-scale construction and development projects.
  • Proven experience in delivering complex developments (mixed-use, residential, commercial, and hospitality).
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC) and authority regulations.
  • Solid experience in managing authority approvals, design quality, and contractor performance.
  • Ability to manage project complexity, including system integration, budget and schedule constraints, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of company governance frameworks, including DOA, QA/QC, HSE, procurement, financial controls, sustainability, and reporting procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance, resolve technical and contractual challenges, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse parties.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and deliver within tight timelines.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and results-driven mindset.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Proven track record in managing MEP aspects of large-scale developments from design through to handover.
  • Strong experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including consultants and contractors.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to drive results and ensure accountability.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills to manage stakeholders and achieve project objectives.
