Summary

Project Manager at AO Retail, the UK electrical retailer, leading multiple complex initiatives across technology, commercial, digital and operations. Day to day involves project governance, risk and dependency management, and aligning cross-functional teams, adapting between Agile and Waterfall to deliver customer and commercial outcomes.

About The Role

Big projects, plenty of moving parts and no shortage of people to bring along for the ride. We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead complex initiatives across AO, connecting teams across technology, commercial, digital and operations. You’ll bring clarity to competing priorities, challenge thinking when there’s a better way forward and keep everyone focused on what matters: delivering great outcomes for our customers and the business.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of multiple projects at once, keeping delivery on track across timelines, budgets and quality while making sure teams stay focused on customer value, commercial outcomes and operational readiness. You’ll bring together people from technology, operations, fulfilment, digital, product and commercial teams, working through competing priorities and resolving bumps in the road before they become roadblocks. Alongside driving delivery, you’ll establish clear project governance, manage risks, issues, actions and dependencies, and give senior stakeholders a clear view of progress, decisions and challenges. You won’t just report on what’s happening - you’ll ask the questions that need asking, confidently challenge assumptions and help shape the direction that gets us to the best outcome.

A Few Things About You

  • Strong experience managing complex technology or commercial projects within consumer electronics, digital services or a similar product or retail environment.
  • Comfortable owning several projects at once and keeping delivery moving when priorities compete for attention.
  • Experienced in bringing technology, commercial and operational teams together around shared goals.
  • Strong at managing risks, issues, actions and dependencies, spotting potential blockers early and taking action.
  • Confident influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders while building strong working relationships.
  • A skilled negotiator who can navigate conflicting priorities and find a practical way forward.
  • Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, adapting the approach to suit the project.
  • Clear and engaging communication skills, with a knack for making complicated technical or commercial detail easy to understand.
  • A real focus on outcomes, always keeping customer and commercial value front of mind.
