Project Manager, AOPS
- Lead initiatives within Program Management based on input and direction from the AOPS Program Manager and the AOPS Program Director. Ensure a cohesive management structure to drive AOPS Program execution.
- Ensure that the Program Management KPIs align with other key management processes, to ensure the AOPS Program is delivering value to the Customer in an efficient and cohesive manner.
- Develop the communication methods of the Programs performance, complete with high-level processes, ensuring alignment with other AOPS Functional Departments leading to a cohesive management structure driving AOPS Program execution.
- Review and development of Program performance reports, metrics and dashboards, including identification and coordination of other departments to deliver the data.
- Lead on communication and engagements with internal and external stakeholders where it applies to performance management.
- Support the Program Manager level ad-hoc initiatives.
- Post-secondary degree, in business administration, engineering or related discipline.
- Considerable knowledge of project management principles; PMP designation an asset.
- Continuous improvement certification (such as green/black belt) an asset
- Demonstrated ability to apply core Project Management processes: scheduling, lean methodologies, budgeting and cost forecasting, performance tracking, risk management.
- Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in a project management position in defense/design/construction industries.
- Knowledge in naval design or project build sectors, large scope national contracts or heavy industrial sectors considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills; energetic and results focused.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
