Job Summary
The Bioretention Project Manager owns delivery of bioretention and low impact development (LID) installations from handoff at close of sale through plant establishment and project close-out — including engineered soil media, underdrain and stone systems, plant material, and final inspection with the design engineer. This role is deadline-driven, with daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables. Our customers are primarily General Contractors (GCs), civil site contractors, developers, civil engineering firms, and municipalities. Competitive salary commensurate with experience, a Bonus program, full benefit package including health insurance and 401k.
Duties & Functions
1. Project Setup & Handoff
  • Document Management: Load Project documents into various systems.
  • Thorough review of construction project documents, including specifications, drawings, and details.
  • Collaborate with our estimator, sales team, and other staff to enable successful transfer of the project from Estimating to Project Management upon close of the Sale.
2. Communication & Coordination
  • Attend Scope Reviews, Pre-Con Meetings, and Site Visits.
  • Communicate weekly with general contractors and other customers.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings with team.
  • Manage Change Orders, RFIs, RFP's, and Subcontractors.
3. Scheduling & Financials
  • Develop Weekly Schedules, Budgets, Submittals, Shop Drawings, and Purchase Orders.
  • Complete monthly pay applications/invoicing.
4. Bioretention & LID Installation
  • Coordinate engineered soil media — specification conformance, sourcing, delivery sequencing, and placement and testing.
  • Sequence underdrain, stone, and filter fabric installation against the site contractor's earthwork, utility, and paving schedule.
  • Procure plant material and build planting schedules around seasonal and weather constraints.
  • Manage establishment-period maintenance and plant survival warranty obligations.
5. Closeout & Compliance
  • Coordinate inspections, as-builts, and stormwater certifications with the design engineer and the authority having jurisdiction.
Qualifications & Standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering desired.
  • Experience in commercial construction project management, with bioretention, stormwater, or civil site work strongly preferred.
  • Proven successful ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Proven successful ability to meet daily project deadlines is required.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively see projects through to completion.
  • Strong communication skills, including good presentation skills.
  • Experience in MS Project and ProCore PM Software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of bioretention and LID design standards and applicable state or local stormwater manuals.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil grading, drainage, and planting plans.
  • Landscape, horticulture, or plant identification background a plus.
  • CPESC, CESSWI, LEED AP, or state stormwater inspector certification a plus.
