About the Role
The Project Manager – Business Optimization leads and manages capital and O&M projects focused on process improvement, system enhancements, and operational efficiency. This role serves as the single point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring scope, requirements, schedules, and resources are clearly defined and delivered. The PM drives accountability across cross‑functional teams, manages risks, supports change management, and ensures project outcomes directly support safety, reliability, compliance, asset management, customer service, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of assigned projects through coordination with SMEs, consultants, management, and cross‑functional teams.
Drive accountability to ensure tasks, deliverables, and milestones are completed on schedule.
Maintain open communication with project team members, stakeholders, end‑users, and leadership.
Utilize project management tools, applications, and reporting frameworks to ensure consistency and visibility.
Support training, implementation, and change management activities.
Identify and mitigate risks and issues proactively.
Present project updates and technical/non‑technical information to diverse audiences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience & Skills:
Strong understanding of project management principles.
PMP certification preferred.
Lean Six Sigma certification or experience desirable.
Experience with GIS, SAP, Scheduling, Dispatching, Mobility Applications preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power Suite.
Demonstrated ability to manage large projects and lead diverse teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to present complex information clearly and professionally.
Other Requirements:
Must be onsite Monday–Thursday in the San Diego region.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree OR 7+ years of project management, engineering, operations, IT, construction, or utility experience.
