Project Manager (Civils)
Summary
Oversees planning, execution, and completion of civil engineering projects in Gaborone — coordinating clients, engineers, architects, and contractors to deliver on time and within budget, while managing timelines, budgets, compliance, and construction-phase oversight. Requires a relevant degree/diploma.
Key purpose:
Overseeing the planning, execution and completion of civil engineering projects.
Work with a team of engineers, architects and other professionals to ensure that all aspects of a project are completed on time and within budget.
Effectively manage large groups of people while also paying close attention to detail.
Coordinate with multiple contractors or vendors at once, all while ensuring that their own team is working efficiently and effectively.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinating with clients to ensure the design meets their needs and specifications
- Scheduling and overseeing construction activities to ensure that deadlines are met
- Monitoring project budgets to ensure costs are within reasonable limits
- Reviewing plans for design flaws and making recommendations for improvement
- Monitoring the work of engineers to ensure that they are adhering to industry standards and best practices
- Providing technical support to contractors during the construction phase of a project
- Developing project timelines, including phases of implementation, completion dates, and milestones along the way
- Assisting in the development of bids for projects that may be put out to bid by clients
- Ensuring that all applicable laws and regulations are followed during construction
Qualification:
- Relevant Degree/Diploma is essential
