What You’ll Do
- Manage construction inspection assignments for roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects
- Lead, mentor, and oversee Resident Engineers, inspectors, and field staff
- Serve as the primary client contact for NJDOT, county, and municipal projects
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall performance
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and safety standards
- Review daily reports, change orders, and contractor progress
- Support business development, including proposals and client engagement
What You'll Bring:
- 8–15+ years of construction inspection or construction management experience
- Prior experience managing NJDOT or similar transportation projects strongly preferred
- Strong leadership and client-facing skills
- NICET certification, PE license, or EIT preferred
- Solid understanding of roadway, bridge, and infrastructure construction practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
- Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
- Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
- Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
