We now need to build up our existing team with the right skills and mindset to enable us to continue to hit those goals and deliver our exciting change portfolio! In delivering both technical and business change, we go heavy on collaboration inside and outside of the team, across heritages and with established partners such as third-party credit card service providers. If you are passionate about delivering successful change within a high-performing team, then this role might be the perfect fit for you!
We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll be located at our nearest regional office or hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration and in some locations you’ll be expected to spend at least two days a week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, in the office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
What you’ll be doing
As a Project Manager, you'll lead the delivery of high-profile business and integration change initiatives that help grow and improve our credit card business. You'll work closely with colleagues across a wide range of teams to define requirements, create delivery plans and ensure change is implemented successfully. You'll coordinate both technical and business teams, managing risks, budgets and dependencies while keeping projects on track.
Building solid relationships with stakeholders will be a key part of the role, providing regular updates and helping to resolve challenges as they arise. You'll also ensure projects follow the appropriate governance processes to deliver the right outcomes for our customers and Nationwide.
About you
As a minimum requirement, you’ll have:
- Extensive experience delivering complex Credit Card business and technology change, with knowledge of credit card products, customer journeys, operational processes and regulatory considerations
- Proven experience of working with Credit Card platforms, particularly TS2, and applying that knowledge to successfully deliver change initiatives
- Leadership experience managing cross-functional delivery teams, stakeholders and third-party partners
- Demonstrable track record of planning and delivering Credit Card change projects, including scope definition, budgets, forecasting, governance and risk management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, influence and provide clear updates to senior audiences
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach, combining problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver at pace
- Ability to balance individual project objectives with wider programme, portfolio and customer outcomes, ensuring successful delivery of strategic change
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
