Project Manager (Data Centre)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing technology infrastructure company developing and operating high-density data centre capacity across Southeast Asia, supporting the rapidly growing demand for AI, GPU computing, high-performance computing and large-scale cloud workloads.


The company is vertically integrated, owning and operating the infrastructure required to support customers' critical compute requirements.


As the Project Manager, you will take ownership of data centre delivery from an empty shell through commissioning and final handover. This is a highly hands-on role with significant decision-making authority, working across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and customer delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the project end-to-end, including project brief, budget, programme, risks, design, commissioning and handover.
  • Translate contractual technical requirements into clear delivery specifications and manage design consultants against these requirements.
  • Lead procurement activities including BOM development, tendering, vendor selection, purchase orders and long-lead equipment.
  • Manage site delivery across critical infrastructure including: Electrical power, Cooling systems, Fire & life safety, Security, Server racks, Structured cabling
  • Lead and manage commissioning through Levels 1–5, including customer-witnessed testing.
  • Ensure formal acceptance and delivery by the committed Ready for Service (RFS) date.
  • Coordinate complete project documentation and handover to Operations and the customer.
  • Remain the key customer delivery contact following service commencement.
  • Manage customer expansions, variations and change orders.
  • Hold contractors, consultants and vendors accountable for project commitments and timelines.


Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 6–10 years of experience in data centre or mission-critical project delivery.
  • Proven experience delivering at least two data centre fit-outs end-to-end, from empty shell through operational handover.
  • Hands-on experience managing integrated systems testing and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of critical power and cooling systems, with the ability to read and challenge single-line diagrams and construction specifications.
  • Proven ownership of a project budget of USD 5 million or more and accountability for project delivery timelines.
  • Experience delivering projects against an external customer's contracted technical specifications.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and hold contractors and vendors accountable.
  • Experience with colocation, wholesale or build-to-suit data centre providers.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Uptime Institute ATD/ATS or CDCP certification.
  • Experience delivering high-density, AI or HPC data centre deployments.
