Project Manager
Description
Role & responsibilities
- Lead a structured knowledge-capture effort in your first weeks: batch job inventory, pipeline dependencies, runbooks, known workarounds, failure history, and escalation contacts documented in Forward Air-owned locations and verified by the US team.
- Run daily triage of production issues, batch failures, and incoming requests, keeping every open item assigned, prioritized, and current in Azure DevOps.
- Plan and track enhancements and projects across sprints or Kanban flow; manage scope, dependencies, and dates with business owners and the US team.
- Coordinate transitions as new engineers join: shadowing plans, handoff checklists, and readiness checks before work changes hands.
- Act as the single front door for questions to US engineers batching and routing them so the US team can review and unblock without being interrupted continuously.
- Enforce work-item hygiene and the team's QA and production checklists, including business logic validation, not only data-movement checks.
- Produce a concise weekly scorecard: open production items, aging items, deliveries, risks, and transition status.
- Identify delivery risks early and escalate with options, not just problems.
Preferred candidate profile
- Exposure to Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Talend environments.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
- Experience leading a team through a vendor or platform transition.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
