What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking a talented Drainage/Stormwater Engineer to join our busy Columbia, SC office. This Engineer will have exposure to a wide range of interesting applications under the supervision of experts and leaders in the Water industry.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare construction plans and specifications
  • Stormwater design for projects including both bid-build and design-build projects
  • Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system analysis, and sediment and erosion control design
  • Perform hydrologic & hydraulic studies using software such as GEOPAK Drainage, HY-8, and HEC-RAS
  • Prepare cost-estimates and technical reports
  • Coordinate permitting efforts with various stormwater agencies
  • Train/mentor junior engineers and technicians

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in stormwater design/analysis
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina, OR eligibility to obtain license within 6-12 months
  • Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK Drainage
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • SCDOT experience
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, SMS, SRH-2D, and SWMM
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $120k - $135k per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
