Project Manager

Summary

Leads a high-stakes CRM migration from Upsales to Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, coordinating teams, timelines, and stakeholders to execute a hard cutover by early 2027.

Executive Summary

The B2B commercial organization in Sweden is executing a high-stakes, time-critical transition to decommission our legacy Upsales CRM platform and consolidate all customer relationship management and marketing automation onto a unified Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (D365 CE) foundation.

Maintaining our current dual-system landscape incurs an escalating financial liability. To avoid an automatic 12-month contract renewal, a formal termination notice must be submitted to the vendor by September 30, 2026. We require an experienced Senior Project Manager to step into this highly sequenced delivery phase, navigate complex architectural dependencies, resolve strategic stakeholder conflicts, and drive the program to a successful "hard cutover" by 02/01/27.

Project Timeline, Capacity & Engagement Terms

Due to immovable vendor notice deadlines, this engagement requires immediate onboarding and highly focused execution.

  • Target Start Date: Immediate (No later than July 1, 2026). Can be discussed

  • Engagement Duration: 8 to 9 months, running through the Q1 2027 final decommissioning and post-migration hypercare phase.

  • Expected Capacity: ~30% to 80% FTE.

  • Critical Milestones:

    • August 2026: Finalizing UAT and integration testing.

    • September 1, 2026: Critical Go/No-Go Steering Committee Gateway.

    • September 30, 2026: Deadline for Upsales vendor termination notice.

    • November 2, 2026: Target weekend for the "Hard Cutover" and D365 Go-Live.

    • January 2, 2027: Service Agreement End-date

Required Qualities & Core Competencies

This is not an administrative role; it is a leadership mandate. The ideal consultant is an assertive driver who thrives in complex, constrained environments and knows how to navigate stakeholder politics.

  • Obstacle Blocker & Problem Solver: You do not just track progress; you actively clear the path. You anticipate bottlenecks, aggressively remove blockers, and shield your engineering and operational teams from external noise so they can focus on execution.

  • Ruthless Prioritization: You have the backbone to handle tough discussions and enforce strict scope control. When business units push for complex "legacy-matching" customizations, you confidently push back, keeping the organization laser-focused on the critical path to launch.

  • Master of Resource Orchestration: You will matrix-manage a fixed budget across internal engineering teams, operational business leads, and external technical consultants. You spot resource gaps early and reallocate capacity to ensure nothing stalls.

  • Technical Workshop Facilitation: You possess the technical depth to stand toe-to-toe with software engineers, architects, and product owners. You can confidently lead architectural alignment workshops, translate complex API/ETL concepts into commercial risks, and broker necessary technical compromises.

  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of enterprise CRM migrations (specifically Dynamics 365 CE and legacy platforms), and complex integration ecosystems (transactional middleware and ERP workflows).
