The Role

Hermanson Company is a fast-growing specialty mechanical contractor building out an integrated, cloud-based, all-in-with-Microsoft platform to put information in people’s hands and time back in their day. Our Enterprise Solutions team delivers the portfolio of initiatives that make that happen including business process changes, D365 F&O enhancements, Power BI and Fabric reporting, and integrating with Construction Technology solutions in support of the field and shop.

This role owns the delivery of projects typically running three to nine months, span multiple functions, and are executed by a small internal team plus occasional outside partners. You will collaborate with an array of cross-functional stakeholders to deliver focused results. Our initiatives run the gauntlet from shop fabrication to field operations, across HR, accounting, and finance and anywhere in between.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end delivery. Take assigned initiatives from charter through go-live, adoption, and closeout. Define the scope, gameplan the work, identify what must be true for it to succeed, and see it through.
  • Planning that holds up. Build and maintain realistic roadmaps and one-page schedules that leadership can digest. Update the plan honestly when reality changes and communicate revisions to leadership early.
  • Risk and issue management. Surface problems early, while there is still time to mitigate or act on them at low cost. When you escalate, bring options and a recommendation.
  • Scope discipline. Maintain agreed-to scope, run change requests through a clear decision path, and determine the cost and schedule impact of added requests before they are absorbed into the project.
  • Partner and budget management. Manage outside vendors against their statement of work: deliverable acceptance, hours against estimate, and evaluation of change orders.
  • Cross-functional coordination. Engage business SMEs, IT, finance, and operations resources so the right people are in the room at the right time. Come prepared, use their time wisely, and produce living work-products.
  • Reporting and communication. Provide regular, plainly stated statuses to the Enterprise Solutions lead and business capability owners. Facts are valued over status theater.
  • Value confirmation. Partner with Hermanson’s business analyst and business process owners to define success measures up front, then come back after deployment and confirm the expected benefits were delivered.

The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000. (The compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, engineering, construction management, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years managing business and process improvement projects, with a track record of initiatives you personally drove from ambiguity to an adopted result. Enhancing capabilities across people, processes, information, and systems
  • Experience building a project’s delivery structure rather than inheriting it: you build your own plan, chase your own dependencies, and adjust the approach based on project needs.
  • Enough technical literacy to hold your own with developers, data engineers, and partner consultants without writing code. You can follow an integration discussion, read a data flow diagram, and push back on an estimate that does not add up.
  • Comfortable with modern work-tracking tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, or similar) and skilled with Excel.
  • Crisp written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization - from field foremen to functional managers to our c-level executives.
  • Genuine follow-through. You close loops, follow up until open items are closed and decisions are made - keeping the work moving without falling through the cracks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, specialty trades, manufacturing, or another project-based business.
  • Experience with D365 Finance & Operations or Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft stack around the ERP: Power BI, Power Platform, Fabric, Azure DevOps.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or comparable certification.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to work faster or better in a real-world environment.
  • Demonstrated delivery of AI solutions that are effective, scalable, and secure in a production environment.

Our Interview Process

Our process includes several conversations with the Enterprise Solutions lead, members of the team, and business stakeholders you would work with. We will ask you to follow a STAR-story interview approach as you walk us through project that did not go as planned: what you noticed first, when you raised it, what you changed, and what you would do differently.

How the Role Starts

You will pick up an initiative already in flight and add others throughout the year. Early on, expect time with stakeholders to understand how the work runs before planning around it. By the end of the year, you would typically be carrying three or four initiatives at different stages.

Location and Work Arrangement

This position is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Our headquarters is in Kent, Washington, with core collaboration hours of 7AM – 3PM PT (10AM – 6PM ET). Occasional travel to Kent is expected, roughly once a year for planning sessions or a major go live.
