What you will be doing
- Project execution: Manage multiple projects from intake through final approval, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Scheduling and resources: Assign work, coordinate internal teams and external vendors, and manage resource capacity.
- Budget and financial tracking: Monitor project costs, labor hours, time tracking, and profitability.
- Client and stakeholder management: Maintain regular communication with clients, project teams, and senior leadership.
- Project reporting: Present project status, risks, budgets, timelines, resource needs, and issues requiring decisions.
- Proposal management: Coordinate project estimates, RFP responses, and proposals for new business.
- Process improvement: Improve project tracking, financial reporting, documentation, and internal workflows.
- Team coordination: Motivate, coach, and support team members while ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
- Tools and technology: Use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and financial or capacity-planning tools.
Experience you will need
- Previous experience in project management or project coordination with responsibility for project delivery.
- Experience managing multiple projects, schedules, budgets, resources, and deadlines.
- Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience tracking project costs, labor hours, resource utilization, or profitability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and preferably Microsoft Project.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Strong organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Preferred background
- Project management in engineering, manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding, or other technical environments.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and third-party contractors.
- Experience preparing estimates, RFP responses, and business proposals.
- Familiarity with project management and financial tracking systems.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
