Project Manager, Finance Business Intelligence
NewBe an early applicantJob Summary:
The Project Manager, Finance Business Intelligence (FBI) will serve as the primary owner of project monitoring and portfolio visibility for the Finance BI team, ensuring that every initiative’s status, risks, and blockers are tracked, current, and clearly communicated to stakeholders and leadership at all times. This role is the organizational backbone of the team’s day-to-day operations: continuously monitoring progress against the Project Tracker and Azure DevOps sprints, proactively surfacing risks and dependencies, and driving issues to resolution before they impact delivery.
Beyond monitoring, the Project Manager partners closely with stakeholders to elicit and document clear, actionable requirements, manage request intake and ServiceNow tickets, and keep the team’s knowledge assets — including the Data Catalog and process documentation — accurate and current. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the analytical rigor to translate scattered updates into a clear, reliable picture of where every project stands, and the initiative to unblock progress by coordinating across finance, operations, and data engineering stakeholders.
Job Duties:
Project Monitoring & Tracking
- Owns day-to-day monitoring of the Finance BI project portfolio, ensuring timelines, milestones, and deliverables are consistently tracked and visible to stakeholders and leadership
- Maintains the team’s Project Tracker as the single source of truth, ensuring priorities, statuses, owners, and timelines are accurate and up to date at all times
- Provides regular, concise project status updates (e.g., inbox briefs, executive summaries) to the Finance BI Leader and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and decisions needed
- Proactively identifies, escalates, and helps unblock project impediments by coordinating with developers, data engineering, finance, and other cross-functional partners
- Monitors dependencies and timelines across concurrent projects to flag conflicts or resourcing risks before they affect delivery
- Facilitates communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of objectives, timelines, and deliverables
- Conducts post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future delivery practices
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Partners with business stakeholders to elicit, define, and document clear technical and functional requirements for Finance BI initiatives
- Translates business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and work items suitable for development in Azure DevOps
- Validates delivered solutions against documented requirements and supports user acceptance testing (UAT)
Request Intake & Sprint Management
- Owns and manages the request intake process, triaging incoming work requests, gathering necessary details, and routing them appropriately
- Manages and maintains DevOps sprints, including backlog grooming, sprint planning support, work item hygiene, and tracking sprint progress against commitments
- Manages incoming ServiceNow requests related to Finance BI, ensuring tickets are triaged, assigned, updated, and closed in a timely manner
- Monitors and reports on intake volume, throughput, and aging items to help the team prioritize effectively
- Manages user access requests for Finance BI reports, workspaces, and related tools, ensuring requests are properly documented, approved, assigned, and completed in accordance with data security and governance requirements
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Ensures project and process documentation is created, maintained, and kept current throughout each project’s lifecycle
- Keeps the team’s Data Catalog up to date, ensuring data sources, definitions, and ownership information remain accurate and accessible
- Maintains training materials, business dictionaries, and other knowledge repositories to support team onboarding and stakeholder self-service
- Champions an ownership model and process-driven approach to documentation, rather than ad hoc updates
- Other duties as assigned
