Project Manager, Fire Sprinkler
The Fire Sprinkler Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing multiple fire sprinkler construction projects from contract award through final acceptance. This position ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and customer requirements. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact between the owner, general contractor, engineers, AHJs, vendors, and field personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of commercial and industrial fire sprinkler projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
- Review contract documents, specifications, and construction drawings to establish project scope and identify potential issues.
- Develop project schedules and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Prepare project budgets and monitor labor productivity, material costs, and overall project profitability.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings and maintain ongoing communication with field foremen and superintendents.
- Attend owner, contractor, and coordination meetings as required.
- Track project progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts, design issues, and field challenges.
- Process RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, local building and fire codes, OSHA regulations, and company quality standards.
- Manage change order pricing and monthly cost forecasting.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and final acceptance with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and owner representatives.
- Maintain complete project documentation, including daily reports, meeting minutes, closeout documents, warranties, and as-built drawings.
- Foster positive relationships with customers while representing the company professionally.
