Project Manager - Governance Frameworks and Partnerships
Summary
A 6-month contract Project Manager role (via Davidson Recruitment) establishing regional governance frameworks and local government partnership agreements for Victoria's renewable energy transition. Day to day involves coordinating councils and senior stakeholders, running governance forums, tracking plans and milestones, and writing reports and briefing papers.
Salary: $900 - $1k p.d.
Project Manager - Regional Governance and Partnerships
Contract: 6 months initially, with potential for extension
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an organised and highly capable Project Manager to help establish regional governance arrangements and local government partnership agreements that is focussed on Victoria's Renewable Energy
This is a relationship-focused project management role involving close collaboration with Regional Directors, councils, internal stakeholders, regional communities and external delivery and vendor partners.
You will help establish effective governance forums, coordinate regional priorities, support partnership and service agreements, and ensure key initiatives are well planned, monitored and reported. Your work will contribute to regional planning, economic and community development, First Peoples outcomes, benefit sharing and infrastructure investment across the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Regional Directors to implement regional governance frameworks, forums and decision-making arrangements.
- Coordinate the development and management of local government service agreements and partnership arrangements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, councils, regional representatives and vendor partners to coordinate priorities and delivery activities.
- Develop project plans, schedules, action registers and milestone tracking to maintain delivery momentum.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefing papers, governance papers and recommendations for senior leaders and decision-making forums.
- Capture findings, outcomes, risks, issues and agreed actions, ensuring they are clearly documented and followed through.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder concerns.
- Support effective meeting preparation, facilitation, minutes, actions and follow-up.
- Provide project management support across regional development initiatives and governance improvements.
- Build strong working relationships and contribute to a coordinated, transparent and collaborative approach to delivery.
About You
You will be a confident and capable Project Manager with excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills. You will be comfortable working with senior internal stakeholders, Regional Directors, councils, community representatives and external partners, and will have the credibility to build trust, encourage collaboration and manage competing views.
You will be highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records and ensure actions are progressed to completion. You will also be confident preparing clear, well-structured reports, briefing papers and recommendations that enable informed decision-making.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated project management experience across governance, partnerships, transformation, community, infrastructure or organisational initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing reports, briefing papers, governance papers and recommendations.
- The ability to coordinate activities across multiple teams, stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Strong organisation, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Experience identifying and managing risks, issues, dependencies and actions.
- The confidence to work with senior leaders and influence outcomes through effective communication.
- A practical, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
Specific renewable energy, local government or regional development experience is not essential. This role will suit a solid generalist Project Manager who is highly organised, communicates exceptionally well and can bring structure, clarity and momentum to a complex stakeholder environment.
