Project manager opportunity to work within large digital projects at a global mining company

Your new company
Hays is recruiting an experienced Project Manager to a mining organisation. This exciting opportunity sits within the Product Management function, supporting a suite of approximately 40 planning and scheduling applications that enable critical business operations across the organisation.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a range of digital and technology initiatives within an Agile environment. Working closely with product owners, technical teams and operational stakeholders, you will drive project outcomes from initiation through to delivery while ensuring alignment with business objectives and governance requirements.
Your new role
As the Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of technology and digital projects across the planning and scheduling application portfolio.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
  • Engage with business and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and support solution design.
  • Work closely with product owners and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, financial reporting and governance activities.
  • Facilitate workshops and act as the bridge between business and technical teams.
  • Track project progress, manage risks and issues, and provide regular stakeholder updates.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Proven Project Management experience within the mining or resources sector.
  • Experience delivering technology, digital, software or application-focused projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and frameworks.
  • Experience leading Agile ceremonies and working within product-led environments.
  • Strong facilitation, requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Business Analysis experience or the ability to confidently perform BA-related activities.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across both business and technical functions.
  • Exposure to planning, scheduling or operational technology environments will be highly regarded.
