Job Title: Project Manager

Reports To: Regional Vice President

Job Overview:

Responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of an entire project through budgeting, team member written commitments, sourcing suppliers and identifying key performance milestones in order to and manage a group of employees, subcontractors and vendors within FORGE SOP during the execution phase of projects to demonstrate control of risk and document retention while producing previously projected results for safety, contract compliance, cost control and collections.

Represent the Forge Company on active project sites in a manner to elevate the Forge Brand to our customers, trade partners and the public.

Manage a group of subcontractors, Forge employees, vendors, trade partners (precursor & successor) and our clients to achieve a planned project delivery on time and within budget while creating and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.


Duties:

1) Management, Leadership & Strategic Oversight:

  • Direct and otherwise manage staff during the procurement process.
  • Setting key milestones and providing feedback with the client and Forge staffing plan about the status of the project and their respective roles to maintain goal attainment.
  • Ensure all projects and initiatives support the company’s overall vision, mission, and financial targets from project pursuit through preconstruction.
  • Lead process improvements that reduce costs, streamline workflows, and enhance resource utilization for execution phase in accordance with directives from the Vice President.
  • Manage staff to maintain baseline scheduling and contract through the execution stage of project scope.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
  • Ensure all projects stay within approved preconstruction budgets, with regular financial reporting and forecasting in accordance with directives from the Vice President.
  • Use data-driven insights to justify technical and resource investments.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project fabrication startup in accordance with directives from the Vice President.
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement within the execution teams.
  • Develop cost savings strategies related to shipping and logistics.

2) Production & Operations

  • Build budgets, track project expenses per Forge SOP within purchase orders, subcontractor ledgers, change orders and invoicing processes.
  • Optimize execution delivery process by reducing development cycles.
  • Provide time and cost tracking for average across all projects execution development cycles quarterly as follows:
    • Projected vs Actual Labor for Milestone Segments.
    • Projected vs Actual Material for Milestone Segments
    • Projected vs Actual Access for Milestone Segments
    • Projected vs Actual Shipping & Logistics for All Forge SOW
  • Reduce failure rate associated with false starts and re-work.
  • Provide time and cost tracking for failure rate metric quarterly as follows:
    • Measure hours of re-work required and/or requested following document provision to our clients and Forge personnel separately.
  • Strengthen client, subcontractor and vendor relations through transparent communication and fair negotiations maintaining stated cost and time limitations during project execution phase.
  • Provide quarterly reporting for cost and capacity metrics for all booked worked measured against established baselines in coordination with the Vice President.
  • Provide daily and monthly reporting related to Safety, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Budgets, Metric Tracking, Projected Billings, Projected Cost, Scheduling and deviations of established baselines along with checklists to create compliance with stated Forge fundamentals of execution of scope safely with focus on Forge brand standards of excellence for quality and production.

3) Contract Compliance

  • Review all contract documents and needed changes to incorporate into contract documents to maintain a risk profile set forth by the President for all Forge produced assemblies.
  • Lead all team members to ensure documentation and retention of the same is maintained to mitigate risk for provision of shop drawings and submittals to ensure contract compliance within Forge’s stated cost limitations.
  • Ensure Forge direct contract SOW is in direct compliance with contract documents, to include but not be limited to: ASK, ASI, RFI, CO and/or other contract required architectural provision for inclusion within AEOR contract documents.

4) Site Responsibilities

  • Ensure completion daily JHSA ahead of work starting.
  • Ensure completion of daily startup meetings for onsite workers outlining the daily work plan and the methods in which the plan will be executed and submit the report daily.
  • Ensure completion of daily reporting in accordance with Forge SOP and GC SOP in ACC.
  • Maintain professional appearance in dress attire and workspace including proper care for Forge equipment.
  • Evaluate and manage needs related to material, manpower, access and equipment and make timely decisions to keep the proper amount of stock on site to maximize production.
  • Ensure assurance and control of production, quality and safety standards as set forth in the project startup and subsequent planning meetings.
  • Ensure completion of tool inventory reporting monthly.
  • Ensure completion of T&M reporting weekly.
  • Ensure completion of baseline schedule reporting bi-weekly.
  • Complete and submit material usage report monthly.
  • Complete and submit a quality issues report in ACC daily.
  • Complete and submit efficiencies report monthly.
  • Complete and submit subcontractor evaluation report monthly.
  • Complete and submit client evaluation report monthly.
  • Evaluate craftsmanship of Forge labor, to include but not be limited to; subcontractors, for compliance of installed scope of work in accordance with manufacturer's standards, project specifications and contract documents.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read and interpret construction contract documents, submittals and other related literature including but not limited to; shop drawings, architecturals, exploded diagrams, specifications, product data, technical bulletins and digital models.
  • Proficiency in management related to construction workers, designers, detailers and engineers of varying trades.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution strategy and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in use of digital interface software including, but not limited to; ACC, Outlook, MS Excel, IOS platforms, Procore, Smartsheet and related scheduling software
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of design principles, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Must possess the ability to evaluate at-risk situations and exercise strong conflict resolution strategies and communicate the same quickly and calmly to the client to meet contract obligations.
  • High understanding of ACC to perform Reporting, Documentation and Control of Same, Planning Understanding and Control of Stated Baseline.
  • High Ability to Control clients and vendors associated with the construction process.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a proven track record of successfully leading and mentoring teams.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to navigate a jobsite as needed, including the ability to wear any required personal protective equipment (hardhat, closed-toed shoes) and understand any posted or verbal safety guidelines.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs., and performing tasks that require bending, twisting, and full use of arms and hands.
  • Comfortable working in a factory environment with moving machinery.
  • Committed to safety: must wear PPE and follow all safety protocols.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
