We support critical infrastructure across upstream, midstream, downstream, and utility sectors with a strong focus on safety, innovation, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & OperationsLead the full lifecycle of a chemical cleaning project; including planning, mobilization, execution, and closeoutExecute projects across critical applications such as:Refinery turnarounds and shutdowns (exchangers, desalters, tanks, pipelines)Petrochemical and chemical plant maintenance (pickling, passivation, contamination removal)Midstream pipeline and asset cleaning (chemical circulation, fouling removal)Power asset cleaning (turbines, lubrication oil systems, boilers)Pulp and Paper turnarounds (boilers, evaporators, piping networks)Develop detailed work plans, procedures, schedules, and resource plansCoordinate field crews, equipment, subcontractors, and logistics to ensure efficient executionTechnical & Operational ExpertiseApply expertise in chemical cleaning processes, including:Scale, corrosion, and fouling removalHydrocarbon decontamination and degassingPickling and passivation for asset protectionCleaning of heat exchangers, reboilers, pipelines, contactors, and process equipmentSelect appropriate chemical solutions, cleaning methods, and circulation processesTroubleshoot field challenges and optimize cleaning performanceHealth, Safety & ComplianceChampion a zero-incident safety culture and enforce strict adherence to H&S policiesEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all federal/state regulationsConduct hazard assessments (JHAs), safety audits, and incident investigationsPartner with H&S leadership to mitigate risks and ensure safe execution in high-hazard environmentsFinancial & Commercial ManagementPrepare project estimates, budgets, and proposals, including scopes, schedules, and cost breakdownsTrack change orders & BillingIdentify opportunities for operational efficiencies and revenue growthClient & Business DevelopmentServe as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring strong relationship managementProvide technical consultation and tailored cleaning solutions to meet customer needsSupport business growth by identifying new opportunities within existing and prospective accountsDeliver clear communication including project updates, reports, and documentationTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead, supervise, and mentor field personnel, fostering a high-performance, safety-driven cultureProvide direction to meet operational, financial, and safety goalsSupport workforce development and trainingDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate and complete records, including:Work plans and proceduresDaily project reports and site logsSafety and compliance documentationFinancial tracking and forecastingEnsure documentation is audit-ready and aligned with company standardsQualificationsRequired5+ years of experience in chemical cleaning operationsDemonstrated experience managing large-scale industrial cleaning projects in oil & gas, refining, or chemical industriesStrong understanding of chemical cleaning processes and industrial equipmentExperience with cost estimating, budgeting, and financial oversightAbility to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environmentsStrong communication, leadership, and customer-facing skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)PreferredBachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related fieldExperience supporting:Refinery turnarounds and shutdownsPipeline cleaning and commissioningPetrochemical facility maintenanceExperience with ERP/project tracking systemsSuccess ProfileDemonstrates strong safety leadership in high-risk industrial environmentsSuccessfully delivers complex projects on time, within budget, and to client specificationsBrings deep technical knowledge of chemical cleaning applicationsBuilds trusted client relationships and drives repeat businessMaintains strong financial discipline and operational accountabilityClean Harbors is the leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
