This is an experienced IT project management opportunity focused on delivering complex software and technology initiatives from planning through implementation and post-project evaluation. You will lead small to mid-sized projects while coordinating cross-functional teams, stakeholders, resources, risks, and delivery milestones. The role combines strong project governance with a practical understanding of software development, Agile methodologies, and business requirements. You will serve as a central point of contact, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Success requires confident leadership, structured problem-solving, and the ability to navigate both technical and business considerations. You will work in a collaborative environment where accountability, continuous improvement, and high-quality client delivery are highly valued.
Accountabilities:
- Lead small to mid-sized IT software projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from planning and requirements gathering through implementation, delivery, and post-project evaluation.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, communication plans, resource plans, and delivery strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project communications, maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients, project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure requirements, milestones, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and deadlines remain on track.
- Manage project resources, risks, issues, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and required signoffs.
- Facilitate project team meetings, status meetings, stakeholder discussions, and regular reporting activities.
- Prepare accurate status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing project information, risks, progress, and key decisions.
- Support business requirements gathering, gap analysis, testing, and solution implementation activities.
- Coordinate the creation of user manuals, training materials, project documentation, and other resources required for successful implementation and client transition.
- Work closely with business analysts, developers, customers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve project issues.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and effective decision-making.
- Apply Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and SDLC practices appropriately based on project requirements and business context.
- Coach and mentor project teams, business partners, and stakeholders on project management, Agile frameworks, SDLC practices, and delivery standards.
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery quality, efficiency, and stakeholder experience.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful practices, improvement opportunities, and lessons learned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience managing large, complex IT or software development projects, preferably within a high-technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience planning, leading, and tracking software or web development projects using Agile methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, with practical experience combining Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and other project management approaches.
- Experience leading multi-functional project teams of approximately 10–15 or more members, including remote and geographically distributed teams.
- Strong technical understanding of software development, technical solution design, product selection, and IT implementation, with the ability to assess complex technical risks and issues.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and diagramming formal IT requirements, including business cases, use cases, user stories, process flows, data flows, and business objectives.
- Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and customers in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
- Ability to act as a servant-leader, coach teams, facilitate collaboration, and influence stakeholders without relying solely on direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver large-scale project communications clearly and confidently.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to evaluate alternatives, manage ambiguity, and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and SharePoint, including SharePoint List management.
- Familiarity with project, program, Agile, and collaboration tools such as ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Jira Align, and Miro is a plus.
- Experience in the health solutions industry is desirable.
- Certifications such as PMP, CSM, CSPO, A-CSM, A-CSPO, ITIL, Six Sigma, SAFe Agilist, SAFe Release Train Engineer, or SAFe Program Consultant are advantageous.
