Project Manager

Position: Project Manager (Stationery Manufacturing)

Location: Mahim

Experience Required:

4–8 years of experience in project management in manufacturing sector

Experience in stationery, FMCG, writing instruments, or packaging industry preferred

Position Overview
The Project Manager will lead and execute end-to-end projects related to product development, process improvement, capacity expansion, cost optimization, and crossfunctional initiatives within the stationery manufacturing environment. The role requires strong coordination, planning, and execution capabilities to ensure timely project delivery while maintaining quality, cost, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets.
Drive project execution to ensure deliverables are met as per scope, quality, and deadlines.
Track project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, and dependencies.

2. Product Development Projects

Coordinate with Product, R&D, Design, QA, and Production teams for launching new stationery products (pens, pencils, markers, correction products, files, office stationery, etc.).
Ensure packaging, specifications, tooling, and raw materials are finalized and approved within timelines.

3. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization

Drive initiatives to reduce production cost, improve operational efficiency, and enhance productivity.
Implement lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and process automation projects.

4. Vendor & Supplier Coordination

Liaise with vendors for tooling, packaging development, raw material trials, and outsourced processes.
Ensure vendor deliverables, quality checks, and timelines are maintained

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Coordinate with Production, Purchase, QA, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance teams for smooth project flow.
Conduct regular project review meetings and share MIS reports with management.

6. Quality, Compliance & Documentation

Ensure adherence to quality standards, audit requirements, and safety guidelines across all project phases.
Maintain project documentation—requirements, approvals, trial reports, CAPA, SOP updates, etc.

7. Plant Trials & Project Implementation

Lead plant-level trials for new products, processes, and materials.
Ensure successful handover of projects to operations after validation.

8. Stakeholder Communication
Provide timely updates to management on project status, challenges, and required decisions.
Present project reports, dashboards, and post-implementation reviews.

Requirements

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong project management and execution skills
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (preferably stationery or FMCG/light engineering)
Understanding of product development cycles
Vendor management & negotiation
Excellent communication and coordination
Data-driven decision making
Proficiency in MS Project/Excel/PowerPoint
Problem-solving & root-cause analysis
