McKnight International is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure, transportation, aviation, capital improvement, engineering, construction, and technology-related projects throughout Maryland.
Requirements
Leadership Scope
• Lead projects through planning, design, implementation, construction, and closeout phases
• Provide direction and coordination across multidisciplinary project teams
• Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder communications
• Support project reporting and client relationship management
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and project success
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Operate within a fast-paced environment where quality, schedule, and budget performance are critical
Essential Job Functions
Project Planning & Delivery
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and execution strategies
• Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and milestone tracking
• Coordinate planning efforts among project stakeholders and project teams
• Manage project activities from initiation through completion
• Monitor project performance and support achievement of project objectives
Budget & Cost Management
• Develop and manage project budgets
• Monitor expenditures and forecast project costs
• Identify budget variances and implement corrective actions as needed
• Support cost control and financial reporting efforts
Resource & Team Management
• Coordinate personnel, consultants, contractors, and project resources
• Ensure resources are effectively allocated to meet project objectives
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams while promoting collaboration and accountability
Risk & Quality Management
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Monitor project issues and implement practical solutions
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
• Support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout project execution
Stakeholder Communication
• Serve as a primary point of contact for project stakeholders
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams
• Provide project status updates, reports, and presentations
Contract Administration & Compliance
• Assist with contract administration and consultant coordination activities
• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Support adherence to safety and environmental requirements
Schedule Management
• Monitor project schedules and milestone achievement
• Identify schedule impacts and coordinate recovery strategies when necessary
• Support schedule development, maintenance, and reporting activities
Team Leadership
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams
• Foster a collaborative and professional work environment
• Support team development and project performance
Problem Solving & Decision Support
• Address project-related challenges and implement practical solutions
• Support project decision-making processes that maintain progress and project objectives
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Management, or a related field
• Minimum ten (10) years of project management experience supporting transportation, aviation, engineering, construction, capital improvement, infrastructure, or related consulting projects
• Demonstrated experience managing capital improvement and infrastructure projects
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications
• Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods
• Strong understanding of construction management principles and industry best practices
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and client organizations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of applicable construction, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully pass all required background clearances
Required Certifications
Candidates must possess at least one (1) of the following professional credentials:
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Registered Architect (RA)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Physical, Schedule & Eligibility Requirements
• Full-time on-site position
• Ability to travel between project and client locations as required
• Additional hours may be required based on project demands and client requirements
• Ability to navigate active construction and operational environments
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to pass all required background clearances
Salary
Annual base salary range: $140,000 – $170,000.
Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and relevant project management experience.
