Project Manager Mechanical ICI Construction

Our client, a well‑established Mechanical Contractor with a team of 30 including in‑house installation crews, is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee HVAC and plumbing scopes on new‑build commercial and institutional projects.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment, understands mechanical systems deeply, and can confidently manage drawings, scope, costing, and field execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full project lifecycle for HVAC and plumbing installations on ICI new‑build projects
  
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals to determine scope, materials, and installation requirements
  
• Perform take‑offs, cost assessments, and assist with estimating extras and change orders
  
• Prepare and issue RFIs, track responses, and ensure design clarity for field teams
  
• Coordinate with GCs, developers, engineers, and internal installation crews
  
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
  
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support field supervisors
  
• Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to mechanical standards
  
• Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to leadership
  
• Support procurement, material planning, and subcontractor coordination
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree (required)
  
• Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience in mechanical contracting
  
• Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems in commercial/institutional construction
  
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and identify scope gaps or conflicts
  
• Experience with costing, take‑offs, extras, and change order preparation
  
• Strong communication and coordination skills with both office and field teams
  
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office
  
• Valid driver’s license and comfort traveling to job sites in the GTA

• Base Salary: $70,000–$90,000
