Working with project architects, job captains, and consultants, the Project Manager will oversee drawing production and technical delivery while maintaining accountability for agreed scope, schedules, and project financial results.

  • Manage multiple projects or client accounts concurrently while maintaining clear priorities, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Build and negotiate project fees; establish and monitor budgets, schedules, staffing, and work plans, holding teams and clients accountable to agreed scope and fees.

  • Serve as the primary client contact for contractual matters, proactively communicating with clients to resolve issues and enforce agreed obligations while maintaining strong, responsive relationships.

  • Attend and lead project meetings, establish clear agendas and follow-up actions, document decisions, and maintain accountability for progress, quality, and contractual commitments.

  • Oversee consultant selection, contracting, coordination, and performance.

  • Complete monthly project billing with accounting, review invoicing and forecasts, and follow up directly with clients to manage collections.

  • Provide clear direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to project team members.

  • Evaluate project write-offs and losses, explain financial variances, and report project financial performance and corrective actions to firm leadership in monthly reviews.

  • Proactively monitor production and client requests for changes throughout the project; identify, document, price, and negotiate additional services and related contract amendments.

  • Participate in client development, industry networking, and pursuit efforts that support new and repeat business.

Skills & Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including project management responsibility within a full-service architecture firm.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multifamily and mixed-use architectural projects.

  • Demonstrated personal ownership of developing and administering architectural contracts and scope proposals, negotiating fees and terms with clients, and enforcing agreed scope and obligations.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.

  • Strong working knowledge of architectural project delivery, detailing, construction documentation, building codes, permitting, and construction administration.

  • Demonstrated personal responsibility for project budgets, monthly billing, collections, financial reporting, and evaluating write-offs or losses, alongside managing deadlines, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholder groups.

  • A successful track record of leading internal teams and coordinating external consultants.

  • Strong client-facing communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.

  • Collaborative leadership skills and a genuine interest in mentoring and developing others.

  • Proficiency with relevant architectural design, documentation, and project-management tools.
