Project Manager
Summary
Leads cross-functional enterprise projects from planning through implementation and closeout, applying structured project management to drive measurable business outcomes and organizational change.
Position Summary
Network Wireless Solutions (NWS) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Project Manager to join our Corporate Project Management Office (CPMO).
The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional projects from definition through implementation, stabilization, and closeout. The role applies CPMO project-management standards to translate approved business priorities into clear scope, practical plans, coordinated execution, and measurable outcomes.
Working across business functions, the Project Manager combines disciplined project execution with strong business analysis, stakeholder alignment, organizational readiness, and outcome measurement. The role supports initiatives that may involve process improvement, operating-model change, commercial priorities, technology adoption, data and analytics, governance, or other enterprise-wide needs.
The Project Manager is accountable for the effective delivery of assigned projects, including scope, plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, reporting, implementation readiness, transition, and closeout. Functional leaders remain accountable for subject-matter decisions, resource commitments, and sustained business ownership after implementation.
Success in this role requires sound judgment, structured execution, clear communication, and the ability to move initiatives forward in environments where authority is shared and outcomes depend on cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Project Delivery
- Independently lead assigned cross-functional projects from intake and definition through implementation, stabilization, and closeout.
- Translate approved strategic or operational priorities into clear scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, decision requirements, and ownership.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans that distinguish target dates from committed baselines and do not create false precision before scope, resources, and dependencies are validated.
- Coordinate project activity across business functions, locations, and external partners while ensuring that functional leaders retain accountability for subject-matter decisions and resource commitments.
- Maintain execution discipline through action tracking, decision logs, dependency management, issue resolution, change control, and timely escalation.
- Challenge unclear objectives, weak assumptions, unsupported deadlines, and activity that does not materially advance the approved business outcome.
Business Readiness, Adoption & Value Realization
- Assess how each initiative will affect processes, roles, controls, systems, customers, suppliers, and day-to-day operating practices.
- Define business-readiness, adoption, and transition requirements early enough to influence the project plan-not as an end-stage communications exercise.
- Ensure process owners, business sponsors, and affected leaders understand and accept their responsibilities before implementation.
- Coordinate practical communications, training, documentation, and reinforcement activities based on the needs and risk of the initiative.
- Establish measurable adoption and outcome indicators with the sponsor and functional owner before launch.
- Support post-implementation reviews to determine whether the change is being used as intended, whether expected benefits are emerging, and what corrective action is required.
- Select communication, training, engagement, and reinforcement methods that are proportionate to the needs and risks of the initiative, while ensuring that direct accountability, process clarity, leadership action, and operational follow-through remain central to delivery.
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
- Structure ambiguous business problems through research, stakeholder interviews, process mapping, data analysis, and root-cause assessment.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, operating requirements, risks, handoffs, controls, and ownership.
- Use available data and evidence to test assumptions, identify constraints, and support decisions; clearly distinguish verified findings from estimates or AI-generated content.
- Partner with Data Analytics and functional subject-matter experts to define useful measures and convert insights into executable actions.
- Identify opportunities to simplify work, remove duplication, strengthen controls, improve service, reduce risk, or increase commercial and operational effectiveness.
Governance, Reporting & Escalation
- Apply CPMO governance, intake, prioritization, baselining, reporting, risk, change-control, and closeout standards proportionate to project complexity and risk.
- Maintain concise, decision-oriented project documentation, including the charter, plan, RAID log, stakeholder and ownership map, decision log, change record, status report, and closeout assessment.
- Provide executive reporting that clearly differentiates progress, risk, dependency, decision required, owner, due date, and business consequence.
- Escalate unresolved decisions, resource constraints, scope conflicts, and dependency failures early enough for leadership intervention.
- Support portfolio reporting by maintaining accurate and timely project information; the role does not own enterprise prioritization, funding approval, or functional resource allocation.
Stakeholder Leadership
- Build productive working relationships with executives, department leaders, project sponsors, subject-matter experts, front-line employees, customers, suppliers, and external partners as required.
- Facilitate working sessions and governance meetings that result in decisions, commitments, and clear next actions-not discussion without ownership.
- Translate complex information into clear business language and adapt communication to executive, operational, and technical audiences.
- Address resistance, misalignment, and missed commitments directly and professionally.
- Promote accountability, transparency, practical problem solving, and continuous improvement across project teams.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Organizational Development, Operations, Communications, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Three or more years of progressive experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects, business improvement initiatives, organizational change, program delivery, or enterprise implementation work.
- Demonstrated experience converting broad leadership priorities into structured plans, coordinated execution, and measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience working across functions where authority is indirect and delivery depends on influence, clarity, and escalation.
- Experience in distribution, telecommunications, technology, operations, professional services, or another complex multi-stakeholder environment is preferred.
- Formal project management, change management, Lean, or process-improvement certification is preferred but not required.
Required Capabilities
- Demonstrated project planning, organization, dependency management, risk management, issue resolution, and follow-through across cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong business analysis, research, process mapping, problem definition, and continuous-improvement capability.
- Ability to produce concise executive briefings, project documentation, presentations, and decision materials.
- Ability to interpret operational and performance data and use it to support project decisions and outcome measurement.
- Ability to manage difficult conversations, challenge assumptions, and escalate appropriately without damaging working relationships.
- Sound business judgment and the ability to assess whether proposed solutions are practical, proportionate, and aligned with the underlying business need.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and common project-management or work-tracking tools.
- Responsible use of digital and AI-assisted tools, including appropriate validation of facts, calculations, recommendations, and deliverables.
Preferred Experience
- Enterprise process improvement or operating-model implementation.
- Business adoption, organizational readiness, training, or structured change implementation.
- Executive reporting, performance measurement, or analytics-enabled decision support.
- Vendor, customer, or supplier-facing project coordination.
- Projects involving technology or data platforms where the role managed business delivery and adoption rather than performing technical implementation.
