This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Manager, Oncology - Sponsor Dedicated based in the United States.

This is a remote opportunity for an experienced clinical project manager supporting oncology studies in a sponsor-dedicated environment.
You’ll lead interdisciplinary clinical research projects from study launch through closeout, balancing quality, timelines, budgets, and compliance.
The role serves as a key bridge between the sponsor, study teams, and external partners, ensuring aligned execution and clear communication.
You’ll oversee project deliverables, risk management, financial performance, documentation, and inspection readiness across assigned studies.
The position offers the opportunity to apply therapeutic expertise while contributing to the efficient development of important therapies.
You’ll work in a collaborative, technology-enabled environment alongside clinical research and biopharmaceutical professionals.
Success requires strong leadership, organization, communication, and the ability to independently navigate complex clinical research programs.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead interdisciplinary oncology clinical research projects, overseeing study execution from launch through conduct and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and the sponsor, ensuring studies are delivered according to contractual commitments, timelines, quality standards, and expectations.
  • Lead project teams and coordinate study partners to maintain quality, timelines, budget performance, and overall delivery.
  • Monitor project financial performance, proactively identify issues, and implement appropriate corrective and risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure study activities comply with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), applicable SOPs, ICH guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accountability for project deliverables, study documentation, and the quality and completeness of the Trial Master File (TMF).
  • Maintain accurate study information across relevant databases and systems.
  • Support inspection readiness by overseeing study management activities, documentation, project plans, and compliance processes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead internal and external meetings, while preparing clear project reports for sponsors and leadership.
  • Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to address potential delivery challenges.
  • Build strong sponsor relationships and identify opportunities for future or expanded collaboration.
  • Participate in proposal or bid-defense activities when selected as a potential project manager.
  • Provide leadership or line management support to project management and clinical monitoring team members when required.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, or a related discipline; equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
    • Relevant experience within a clinical research organization (CRO) and direct oncology or other therapeutic-area experience is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH guidelines, and applicable clinical research regulations.
    • Demonstrated experience managing clinical research projects, including timelines, budgets, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional teams.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities, with the ability to build effective sponsor and project-team relationships.
    • Ability to analyze project risks, develop contingency plans, and proactively resolve issues.
    • Comfortable adopting new technologies and working in technology-enabled clinical research environments.
    • Ability and willingness to travel as required, approximately 25%.
