Project Manager

Build Projects. Lead Teams. Grow Your Career.

PMI Paving is expanding across the Portland, Oregon and Southwest Washington markets, and we're looking for a driven Construction Project Manager to serve as the primary point of contact and organizational anchor for our asphalt paving, concrete, and pavement maintenance projects. This is a high-impact leadership role covering the full project lifecycle — from preconstruction through closeout — where you'll work closely with ownership, field leadership, subcontractors, and clients to deliver every project on time, on budget, and to the highest standard of quality.

The ideal candidate brings a strong track record in the asphalt or concrete industry, sharp organizational instincts, and the leadership presence to keep teams aligned, clients confident, and projects moving. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want real ownership over project outcomes, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

Project Management

  • Manage projects from handoff through final closeout, serving as the main point of contact for owners, clients, and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and production plans
  • Track job costs, production rates, and overall project profitability
  • Coordinate work with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Lead project meetings with clients, inspectors, and internal teams
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, with a high sense of urgency and commitment to excellence

Project Administration

  • Interpret and analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project requirements and procedures
  • Establish clear project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Prepare and manage billing, budgets, and project reporting accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage and public works requirements (WA & OR)

Preconstruction & Estimating Support

  • Assist with quantity takeoffs and bid preparation
  • Review subcontractor proposals and pricing
  • Support estimating handoff and job startup
  • Participate in value engineering and cost analysis

Field Coordination & Leadership

  • Work closely with field teams to ensure efficient project execution
  • Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills and adeptly handle issues as they arise
  • Resolve challenges related to scope, schedule, logistics, and cost
  • Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards, including OSHA and company safety programs
  • Bring leadership qualities that inspire and motivate teams to exceed expectations
