WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Position Overview

The Project Manager – Manufacturing Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing key projects and initiatives that improve efficiency, productivity, and performance within the manufacturing plant. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role ensures that strategic and operational projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to collaborate across departments and drive measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage plant-level projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with operational goals and company strategy.
  • Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to identify, prioritize, and track key initiatives across production, quality, maintenance, safety, and supply chain.
  • Develop project charters, timelines, budgets, and performance metrics; monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and roadblocks are removed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project status updates, reporting progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Implement standardized project management practices, tools, and reporting methods for consistent execution across initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and improve cost efficiency.
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Facilitate effective change management and communication to ensure adoption of new processes or technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, and process improvement.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
