Freedom has an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of electricity network projects. The role can be based from either Catterick or Leeds, with travel to project sites and client locations as required.
Working with clients, operational teams and delivery partners, you will manage projects from planning and design through to construction, commissioning and handover. The portfolio may include overhead line, refurbishment, asset replacement and wider network infrastructure work across transmission and distribution networks.
Key responsibilities
Lead projects through mobilisation, planning, delivery, commissioning and handover
Take ownership of safety, quality, programme, cost and overall project performance
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, site management, operational teams and subcontractors
Develop and maintain project programmes, resource plans, delivery schedules, documentation and reporting
Act as a key point of contact and maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers, landowners and other stakeholders
Ensure work complies with company HSQE requirements, relevant legislation, CDM duties and client standards, while promoting a positive safety culture and continuous improvement
Monitor progress against programme, budget and agreed performance measures, taking action where required
Manage project risks, opportunities, change control and contract requirements
Support commercial performance through forecasting, cost control, contract administration and financial reporting
Experience and skills
Essential
Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within the power industry sector
Experience in delivering multidisciplinary projects and coordinating operational and technical teams
Strong planning, organisational and leadership skills
Experience with building successful teams and managing people effectively
Commercial awareness, including forecasting, cost control and contract management
Effective client, stakeholder and supplier management skills
A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and CDM requirements
The ability to manage programme, risk and change in a delivery-focused environment
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project locations as required
Desirable
Experience in electricity transmission, distribution, overhead lines or related network infrastructure
Experience working with network operators, regulated utilities or major infrastructure clients
A recognised project management qualification, such as APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent
An IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification
Knowledge of electricity network construction standards and delivery requirements
