Our Engineering team in Riverside, CA is seeking a Project Manager in the Transportation Public Works market to lead complex transportation and public works projects, strengthen client partnerships, and help drive the continued growth of our practice across the Inland Empire markets as an integral part of Southern California Engineering practice at-large. You'll bring technical expertise and strategic leadership to projects from pursuit and planning through design, approvals, and delivery.

What You'll Do
As our Project Manager, you'll provide overall leadership for multiple transportation projects while serving as a trusted advisor to clients, agencies, and project teams.
- Project Leadership: Manage multiple projects from pursuit and scope development through design, approvals, and delivery, ensuring technical quality and successful outcomes.
- Technical Direction: Apply advanced transportation engineering knowledge to guide design, technical reports, calculations, plans, profiles, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Client Advocacy: Represent Psomas and our clients with agencies, contractors, and stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships and client satisfaction.
- Staff Leadership: Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff, provide technical guidance, establish expectations, and support professional growth.
- Project Controls: Develop and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, deliverables, and additional services while identifying and addressing project risks.
- Agency Coordination: Lead coordination with regulatory agencies and support permitting and approvals while navigating local requirements and procedures.
- Quality Management: Lead site visits, client meetings, technical coordination, and QA/QC efforts to ensure projects meet Psomas and agency standards.
- Business Development & Marketing: Lead pursuit planning, proposals, presentations, RFPs/RFQs, contract negotiations, and other growth initiatives, including marketing efforts that build our presence and client relationships in the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties market.
- Consultant Coordination: Manage subconsultant relationships and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to maintain alignment and project quality.
Required Qualifications
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license (or the ability to obtain it within 6 months).
- Experience working with public agencies, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Established client and industry relationships, in Inland Empire area.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field such as Planning, Architecture, Environmental Science, or Geography.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of transportation engineering, concepts, private/public project delivery, and technical quality standards.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships, project scope, budgets, schedules, and contracts.
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and business development skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $140 to 190k annually, commensurate with experience.
