Project Manager
Job Summary
The Project Manager leads overall project performance and represents the company on-site, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of construction projects while managing teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure smooth project execution
- Develop and implement cost-effective plans to complete projects on time and within budget
- Lead site construction teams to maintain workflow efficiency and project progress
- Monitor construction productivity, schedule, and performance; investigate issues and recommend improvements
- Manage subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality standards
- Liaise with authorities, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve project-related matters
- Enforce workplace safety standards, rules, and regulations throughout the construction site
- Implement safe work procedures and environmental control measures on-site
- Provide administrative assistance and logistical support during construction working committee meetings held between 9am and 11pm on working days
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven experience managing complex construction projects with strong cost, quality, and schedule control
- Solid understanding of project management processes, contract management, and site coordination
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or Quantity Surveying with 3 years relevant post-graduate experience in building construction
- Diploma in Architecture, Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, Building Management, or Building Services Engineering with at least 8 years relevant experience, preferably on past HDB projects
