Project Manager

The SCORE Project Manager coordinates and implements initiatives that support SCORE’s strategic goals. Under the direction of the SCORE Director, this role helps the OSHA Training Institute Education Center, Sunshine ERC, and USF SafetyFlorida Consultation Program collaborate effectively, share resources, and align activities to strengthen the consortium’s overall impact.
Responsibilities include developing project plans and timelines, coordinating with faculty and program directors, supporting grant and contract deliverables, managing cross-program communication, and ensuring SCORE initiatives comply with federal, state, and institutional requirements. The position requires managing multiple complex projects at once and working effectively with diverse stakeholders across USF and partner organizations.

• Cross-Program Coordination / Consortium Integration — Coordinate activities across the USF OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC), Sunshine Education and Research Center (ERC), and USF SafetyFlorida OSHA 21(d) Consultation Program to ensure alignment with SCORE strategic goals and direction from the SCORE Director. Facilitate regular communication between program directors and staff, identify opportunities for shared resources and joint initiatives, and support leveraging of training, outreach, and administrative capacity across all three programs.
• Project Planning and Implementation — Develop project plans, schedules, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables for SCORE initiatives under the direction of the SCORE Director. Monitor progress toward milestones, identify barriers, adjust resources as necessary to keep projects on track, and prepare regular status reports for the SCORE Director and program leadership. Apply project management tools and tracking systems to manage all aspects of project progress.
• Data Collection, Reporting, and Evaluation — Support data collection, tracking, and reporting requirements for grants, cooperative agreements, and federal partners including OSHA and NIOSH. Assure that all relevant data are routinely collected and maintained on project operations, training and consultation activities, continuing education participation, and other performance indicators requested by funding agencies. Prepare reports to funding agencies and senior leadership as required.
• Program Development and Support — Assist in developing new training, education, consultation, and outreach initiatives that leverage the combined strengths of the OTIEC, Sunshine ERC, and USF SafetyFlorida programs. Work with faculty, advisory groups, community agencies, professional organizations, and other Education and Research Centers to assess occupational health and safety needs and support program design across the SCORE consortium.
• Communication, Marketing, and Resource Development — Support the creation and maintenance of SCORE communication channels, including websites, shared resource libraries, and promotional materials. Coordinate dissemination of SCORE activities and successes across partner programs, stakeholders, and the broader occupational health and safety community.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of project management or coordination experience; Some positions may require project management certification.

Preferred Qualifications

•This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years of project management experience; or a Master's degree in a related field and 2 years of project management experience. Experience should include project coordination, reporting, and working with multidisciplinary teams.

•Master’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Public Administration, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Education, or a related field.

•Experience managing complex projects involving multiple programs, departments, or partner organizations.

•Experience coordinating grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, or federally funded programs, including tracking deliverables and preparing progress reports

•Knowledge of USF internal grant management requirements.

•Experience working with or supporting programs involving OSHA, NIOSH, Education and Research Centers, OSHA Training Institute Education Centers, consultation programs, or similar regulatory, academic, or technical organizations.

•Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with faculty, program directors, staff, employers, community partners, professional organizations, and external stakeholders.

•Experience developing, evaluating, or supporting training, education, consultation, outreach, or professional development programs.

•Proficiency with project management tools, shared workspaces, data tracking systems, spreadsheets, and reporting platforms.

•Strong writing, organization, facilitation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

•Project management certification, such as PMP, CAPM, or a comparable credential.

SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements

A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree

Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.

Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
